Alata Training provides courses for the Advocacy and Communication Skills elective as part of the Professional Skills Course for trainee solicitors. We offer courses in client interviewing and meetings, negotiation and drafting.
Alata Training developed from the idea that the best skills training is practical and interactive. Our courses are designed for small groups and we ensure that all participants have the opportunity to practise the skills covered by the courses by the use of interesting, relevant exercises.
We also offer individual follow up sessions to give participants a further opportunity to practise the skills that they have learned.
Each session is run by two trainers. This gives participants the benefit of insight and feedback from two experienced lawyers. All of our courses are run at the offices of our clients.
The courses can be adapted to meet specific requirements (for example, if there is a standard house style for documents, this can be incorporated into our drafting training) or for professionals other than lawyers. We would also be happy to create bespoke training courses, if required.
Alata Training is authorised as a provider of the PSC (Advocacy and Communication Skills Elective) by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
"Alata" means "winged" and is used by botanists in naming plants with winged seeds.
We chose the name to represent the development from trainee to qualified lawyer and beyond.
